I am a traditionally-trained artist who fell in love with clay. My focus is on the relationship between form and function. Porcelain is my clay body of choice; its clean white surface is the ideal canvas on which to paint, and its plasticity lends itself to the exploration of textures, both natural and man-made. Central to my work is the undulating female form. I bend, contort, and stretch the figures to fit within the boundaries of the vessels I create. My palette is achieved using underglazes, engobes, colored clay, and decals, as well as glazes. My studio is based at the Clay Art Center in Portchester, NY, where I also exhibit and sell my ceramics.
